06/01/07: Issue 1

Editor's Note

Welcome one and all to the inaugural issue of 10X10X10. I was given the impression that I would be drowned by submissions if I started my own litmag, but the difficulty was in getting enough of them to put together the first issue--hence the long wait. Fortunately, some very considerate folks responded to my pleading emails, and you've got 10 authors here who have each written 10 pieces and have been rejected 10 times, right here in front of your very eyes. 11, if you want to include your long-suffering editor.

I very much want to run 10X10X10 on a regular basis, releasing issues at least once a month, so please tell your writer-friends and your writer-neighbors that I'm open for business. I'm looking forward to reading your work...and I'm not saying that in the evil Glimmer Train reject-o-rama way. I will read, I will make comments, and it's probable that I will accept.

In the meantime, enjoy this first issue. There are some terrific gems by experienced writers like Elizabeth Winthrop and Kenneth Pobo, and some great stuff by newcomers like Barbara Blake and Dan Moyer. I hope you like their work as much as I did.

XXOO,

Katharine Coldiron

PS: I know it seems as if there's a lot of flash in this issue, but that's just what was in my inbox. I hope the mag is as varied as it is welcoming in the future.
